Judge Cooperman has conducted hundreds of trials and settlement conferences on a wide range of issues including complex litigation, mass torts and class actions.


Resolution Expertise

  • Since leaving the bench in 1995, Judge Cooperman has presided over approximately 750 cases including
    • mediations, arbitrations, pro tem trials and court discovery references.
  • The cases presided over by Judge Cooperman have included class actions, asbestos litigation, condemnation actions, mass torts, construction industry matters, entertainment law, securities litigation, employment law, product liability matters, medical and legal malpractice, business litigation, real estate matters and insurance law cases.
  • While on the Los Angeles Superior Court from 1980- 1994, Judge Cooperman presided over jury trials and non-jury trials of all types, and in law and motion, writs and receivers, probate and family law matters, conducting settlement conferences in all practice areas.
  • While assigned to Department 59 of the County of Los Angeles Superior Court, Judge Cooperman presided over class actions of all types, including mass torts, governmental agencies and entities cases, consumer issues, securities law and construction industry matters.
  • He was assigned non-jury trials of all types as well as condemnation cases and asbestos litigation.
